NYSC ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE GETTING ACCOMMODATION

CHOOSING THE APARTMENT

What To Look For While Securing Your Apartment

  • Your house should be close to your PPA: we suggest you secure a house close to your PPA because it is not wise to spend all of your allowance on transporting yourself from home to work (this helps you save some money monthly)
  • Know your budget: The amount of money you are willing to spend for your housing during your service year determines the type of apartments you should go for, obviously.

Type Of House To Choose From

  • Your living Style: Make sure you know your living style and preferences before picking a place.  For instance; if you are the type that likes a private life and don’t like to share kitchen, bathroom and toilet we suggest you go for a self contained miniflat.
  • Your Budget (again):And if you are trying to cut cost of rent and still want to live in a good apartment we suggest you go for the house share option (multiple flats, duplex).
  • Amenities: Don’t forget the essentials like security,  access to water, good roads etc.

Dangers To Look Out For

  • Only approach well known house agents or landlords in other to avoid being scammed, we suggest you use Easy Rent™ Nigeria because we have already done this for you.
  • Only pay to a person you can hold responsible for your money (Easy Rent™ has been tested and trusted, we have a refund policy)
  • Do not make payments till you have seen the house of your choice.
  • Only make payments when you are ready to move into the apartment.
  • Collect evidence of payment (receipt) from whoever you pay to.

CHOOSING A FLATMATE

Why a Flatmate

Easy rent Nigeria has provided youth corpers with a house-share option. This means you can save cost and still get a great apartment. Here, you can get a flatmate who you can share a 2 or 3 bedroom flat with or even go for a duplex. For example:- A 2bedroom flat rent cost 1,000 naira and your budget is 500 naira which is not up to the price of that cost of the 2bedroom flat. We suggest you go for this house share option with East Rent™ than pay 500 naira for a not-so-good apartment.

Things To Look For When Looking For A Flatmate

Do a quick search on your potential  flatmate before you move further on living with him or her
Find out the kind of person he or she is and if you can get along together.
It is also a good idea to know what him or her likes and what he or she does not like.

How Do I Get A Flatmate

Make a couple of friends during orientation camp and find out if they are interested in sharing a house with you. You can also find yourself a flat mate during registration at your place of primary assignments or local government.
If you cannot find any don’t worry Easy Rent™  Nigeria provides you with array of fellow youth corpers who are also searching for a flatmate for the house share option.
